Tom Carey is a Partner of Perspective Group LLC. He specializes in recruiting board directors and CEOs. Leveraging more than thirty years of executive search and life sciences industry experience, Tom advises companies across the healthcare continuum, including biopharmaceutical, diagnostics, R&D tools, medical technology, and digital health entities.

Previously, Tom spent fifteen years at two leading executive search firms. Most recently Tom led Spencer Stuart’s efforts in healthcare board of director advisory services. Prior to that, at Russell Reynolds, he was co-leader of the global healthcare practice. Before entering executive search, Tom served as CFO of both private and public healthcare and technology companies.

Tom currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Standard BioTools (LAB), a publicly traded R&D tools company, and has formerly served on the boards of SomaLogic (SLGC), a publicly traded proteomics company, Exact Sciences Corporation (EXAS), a publicly traded cancer diagnostics company, and as the Chair of the Board of Vital Bio, a venture-backed point-of-care diagnostics company.

Tom received his bachelor’s degree in physics from the College of the Holy Cross and his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
